Obama Owns CNN’s Ed Henry

I DVR’d last night’s Presidential press conference and watched a bit of it. It was essentially just what he’s been doing all along with his national curcuit pushing his budget. President Obama is still such a difference from his predecessor. I don’t think George Bush was a complete idiot, but I really don’t think he could talk confidently about the dangers of market speculation or derivative abuse on live TV. Just saying.  Obama is a scholar and intellectual. The guy is probably one of the smartest people in all of government and I trust intelligence more than anything else in this world. He has assembled a powerhouse economic team and they all deserve our patience and optimism in fixing this mess.

Anyway, I thought this clip was pretty entertaining in what was an exceptionally boring conference. Obama’s words are quite a stark contrast to W.

Just a quick note on people who are crushing the President’s proposed budget. There has never been an economic crisis like this. The new global world presents much more challenges than the Great Depression did. President Obama has been office a little over 60 days. I really urge anyone who is being critical of his administration to stop and let them do their work.

I’m not particularly excited about the budget but I can tell you this; I am happy that this administration is acting swiftly and aggressively to combat this crisis (While the Bush administration stood back and took no action). It is always easier in life to be critical. The budget decisison being made right now are controversial because we have never been in this situation before. And let us not forget who got us into this mess.
